Salford City were knocked out of the FA Cup in a second round replay at Victoria Park against Hartlepool United. The game went to extra-time, before Scott Fenwick and Mikael Mandron sent Hartlepool into round three.
Only two games were completed on Saturday, with Hyde United’s game against Buxton being abandoned with Hyde leading 3-1.
Blyth Spartans were able to pull further ahead at the top of the table after a 4-0 win at home to Barwell. Sean Reid scored twice, along with goals from Michael Richardson and Dany Parker.
Blyth then won again on Tuesday night 3-2 at Frickley Athletic. Daniel Maguire and Robert Dale put Blyth in control before Jacob Hazel and Tyler Williams levelled for the hosts. However, Blyth were able to stretch their lead at the top to eight points thanks to Reid scoring the winner 17 minutes from time.
Workington moved up into third place with a win at Marine. Kyle Cameron gave Workington an early lead with Robert McCartney doubling the advantage. Liam Willis pulled a goal back for Marine, but Workington held on for the win, 2-1.
Grantham Town beat Halesowen Town 2-0 to help them move further away from the relegation zone. Michael Hollingsworth opened the scoring with Stefan Bilyk sealing the victory in stoppage time.
The final game of the week saw Buxton beat Barwell, 5-1. Liam Hardy scored a hat-trick, along with a Bradley Barraclough double, Alex Tomkinson scoring the consolation for Barwell.
This coming weekend we travel to Hyde United. Leaders Blyth Spartans host Stourbridge.
