Darlington Football Club, like all clubs under FA governance, have received some information following the attacks in Paris three weeks ago. The FA are continually receiving advice and guidance from the Police and NaCTSO (National Counter Terrorism Security Office) and when the Club receives further updates we will give a summary to supporters.
A summary of the key messages the Club received today is as follows;
Key messages
- Be vigilant. Be alert, not alarmed.
- The UK’s current threat level is SEVERE, as it has been since August 2014. This means an attack is highly likely.
- There is no intelligence about a specific attack being planned in the UK.
- Visit the NaCTSO website for the latest advice.
- Spectators should be encouraged to arrive early at events and expect increased security checks.
The Board of Directors will do everything it can to ensure match day staff and stewards are regularly briefed and aware of the need to be vigilant and look out for any suspicious behaviour. As with any suspicious incident or inappropriate behaviour, supporters are encouraged to report the incident to a steward.
Thank you for your continued support
