Liam Hughes signs for Quakers
Darlington have today signed midfielder Liam Hughes.
Liam, 25, is an attacking midfielder who started his career at Cambridge, for whom he made 177 appearances in the National League and League Two, scoring 14 goals, and also played and scored for them in the National League play off final against Gateshead (who included Darlo’s Phil Turnbull) in 2014. He also played for Cambridge in their FA Cup tie against Manchester United in January 2015.

He then moved on to the Scottish Premiership with Inverness Caledonian Thistle in January 2016 and made 11 appearances for them, before returning to England and signing for Barrow, for whom he made 42 appearances in the National League.
After a brief spell at Guiseley, he then moved to Essex and joined Billericay, helping them to win promotion from the Bostik League in the season just ended.
