We fell to our second home defeat of the season on Saturday 2-0 against York. The victory saw the visitors return to the top of the table while we are in 17^th.

York moved into first place as King’s Lynn were held at home by Gloucester. Adam Marriott put King’s Lynn ahead early on, but Joe Hanks and Joe Parker turned the game around as Gloucester looked set for an unexpected win. However, Marriott had the final say as he grabbed his second deep into stoppage time to make it 2-2.

Chester moved up to second and are just a point behind York after a 3-1 win at Telford. Akwasi Asante scored a hat-trick for Chester as he continued his great start to the season, with Lewis Reilly scoring a late consolation for Telford.

Guiseley are fourth after a 3-0 victory at home to Herford. The league’s top scorer Aaron Martin scored all three goals taking his total to 14 already.

Our next league opponents Alfreton are fifth despite a shock 2-1 defeat at Kettering. The hosts were 2-0 ahead inside three minutes thanks to Daniel Nti and Marcus Kelly. Amari Morgan-Smith pulled one back on the stroke of halftime , but Alfreton could not find an equaliser.

Newly promoted Farsley continued their good start to the season with a 3-0 success away to Leamington.  Jimmy Spencer put Farsley ahead in the 39^th minute, with Adam Clayton and our former player Nathan Cartman adding further goals after the break.

Brackley continued their recent climb up the table with a 4-0 win away at Curzon Ashton. James Armson opened the scoring in the first period, with Thierry Audel, Shane Byrne and Lee Ndlovu all netting in the second half.

Gateshead are just outside the top seven thanks to a comfortable 3-0 win at home to Boston. They scored all the goals in a eight minute spell through Nicky Deverdics, JJ O’Donnell and Dom Tear.

Blyth Spartans remain at the foot of the table following a 2-0 defeat at Southport. Port scored the goals in the second half through Zehn Mohammed and David Morgan.

Bradford Park Avenue were denied at the death by former player Adam Boyes at home to Spennymoor. Brad Dockerty’s first half goal looked to be the winner for Park Avenue, before Boyes struck in the 95^th minute to earn the Brewers a 1-1 draw.

The final game on Saturday saw Kidderminster leap frog Altrincham with a 2-0 win Ashley Chambers scored both goals one in each half.

The only game in the National North this week sees Hereford host Gateshead on Tuesday night before attention turns to the FA Cup this Saturday.
