Hebburn U12s 6 Darlington U12s 0.

With four injuries and only eight players from the start against a full (nine man) Hebburn side, it was always going to be difficult from the start, but it didn’t stop the lads from giving their all. In the first 15 minutes they pressed confidently and gave Hebburn a hard time. Darlington closed Hebburn down well but with the one less man proved a lot, their striker went one on one with Lewis and with a well taken goal, they were one nil up. The lads’ heads slightly dropped and the defence tried their hardest to keep out chance after chance. They did well but in the closing stages of the half Hebburn finished two chances to put Quakers 3-0 down.

Half time:

Hebburn 3 Darlington 0

The half time team talk worked for the first ten minutes of the second half. Darlington pressed at their defence and there were some great saves by the Hebburn keeper. Unfortunately fresh substitutes from Hebburn and tired legs from Darlington took its toll on the game, the lads tried very hard on a now, very wet and muddy pitch to try and create something but three more strikes put Hebburn 6 nil up.

All in all, eight very hard working lads against a full squad.

Final score:

Hebburn 6 Darlington 0
