The reserves had a great away win at Annfield Plain in the Wearside League on Saturday which ended their recent poor run.

They took the lead when Gareth McMahon shrugged off a defender, ran though and beat the keeper, and before half time, Jamie O’Brien fired the second.

O’Brien, who was returning from county duty, added a third soon after the break, with Jack Vaulks scoring the fourth late on from close range.

Joint manager Mark Fanning said; “It was a comfortable win for us. The pitch was very tricky, and not as good as it looked. There were quite a few challenges flying in as well.

“The lads did well, there were quite a few positives to come out of the game, and we’re pleased that we’ve ended our bad run.”

The reserves next game is at home to Coxhoe Athletic on Saturday.
