Richard Cook, Richard’s father John Cook, and son – Alexander Cook, age 11 – are all sponsoring Saturday’s game.

Richard said; “I’ve been following Darlington FC for close to 30 years watching my first ever game back in the 80’s when Watford beat us 3-0 at Feethams in the League Cup.

“I grew up in the Tin Shed before moving to the East Stand when it was rebuilt! Most memorable moments were promotion from the Conference and the Fourth Division in consecutive seasons under Brian Little and of course the FA Trophy final at Wembley; the lows have to be the two losses at the old Wembley in the play offs!

“We are sponsoring the club as it’s so important in these days of silly football money that grassroots football gets the recognition and support it needs, also Darlington is my home town team, it’s in my blood. We are desperate to get the club back home to Darlington where it belongs so then my son can go with his mates and grow up with the club like I did.”
