Feethams U16 Girls Secure Vital Derby Victory Over Middlesbrough Women

In a season full of challenges, setbacks, and perseverance, Feethams U16 Girls finally claimed their first league win with a hard-fought 2-0 triumph over local rivals Middlesbrough Women. It was a game of passion, determination, and emotional moments as the girls battled for every ball to secure a much-needed victory.

Before kick-off, a poignant minute of silence was observed in memory of Poppy Atkinson, a moment that united both teams and spectators in reflection. From the first whistle, Feethams played with fire in their hearts, determined to turn their season around despite the injuries and illnesses that had plagued them.

Lili Barber was the star of the show, netting both goals with composure and class. As Middlesbrough pressed for an equaliser, the entire Feethams squad dug deep, showing incredible teamwork and resilience. Every girl put in a shift, refusing to let the visitors find a way back into the game.

In the second half, Barber struck again, sealing the win with a brilliant finish to cap off a fantastic team performance. The final whistle was met with scenes of jubilation, as Feethams celebrated their first league win of the season in the best possible way, by defeating a fierce local rival.

While the league campaign has been tough, this group has already shown their quality by securing getting through to a cup Semi Final. Now, with this victory under their belts, they have the momentum to push on and finish the season strong. The message to the squad is clear: build on this, believe in yourselves, and keep fighting.

A derby win, three points, and a game to remember.
