Plains Farm Blues U12s 2 Darlington U12s 0
We knew that this game was going to be a hard game against top of the table Plains Farm only drawing once and not losing so far this season. The manager changed the formation of the team totally with two centre backs ( Ethan Routledge and Lewis Smith playing together for the 1st time) 2 wing backs, 2 in midfield with 2 strikers.
We came into the game with confidence and at the start we played well holding their strong attack up really well. Unfortunately, a controversial penalty was given and slotted in to the back of the net.
Half time:
Plains Farm 1
Darlington 0
Second half we came out stronger than ever and with the rain starting to get heavier on the lads, we applied the pressure on them with new signing Jack Harland partnering Spencer McCabe up front for the first time, the lads hit the post and the cross bar. The last 15 minutes was end to end stuff with both teams applying pressure. At the end of the game they had a free kick and the cold played the part with our goalkeeper Lewis Johnstone being too cold to save it. A very hard working (and cold) 10 players.
