Youth section all set for the season

300 players ready for the big kick off

It’s been an exciting pre-season for our youth, with newly formed teams and some great additions made, we’re raring to go for the season ahead. We have 24 teams and nearly 300 players split across our boys and girls sections. The pathway has never been clearer into senior football with our first u16 girls team who can start to explore the transition into women's football as well as our U23s who have made a fantastic winning start to their Wearside League campaign.

Many of our teams have enjoyed a successful pre-season winning and placing highly in tournaments across all age groups, we’ve recruited well and brought some ambitious new coaches on board. The plans are in place for another great season as we continue to grow the entire youth section and there is a committee on board with ambitions to push the club in an upwards trajectory.

There are still a few teams recruiting so please follow us on socials and messaging, or if you’ve been looking to get your child involved in football we have loads of open sessions where they can give it a try. We will also be bringing on a couple key coaches over the next few months for the “play phase” stage of development as we explore our younger opportunities and also potential leaps to become a 3* Accredited club.

We’d like to thank all our sponsors for their continued support of the youth and there are still a few opportunities left if you are keen to get involved. All of our teams play in the top divisions at every age group, many of which being in the 1st division of their respective leagues. We have continued success stories of players ending up at top academies and many of our players' football development has grown massively working with us alongside their ETC placement.

If you’d like to explore anything to do with the youth section and getting involved, just search “Darlington FC youth” on any social media and drop us a message, or email directly to secretary@darlingtonfcacademy.co.uk who will point you in the right direction.
