New signings to play in Harrogate friendly

First home game in pre season

Quakers play their first home pre-season friendly on Saturday when Football League club Harrogate Town come to Blackwell Meadows.

Quakers come into the game having beaten Tadcaster 1-0 and Newton Aycliffe 6-0 in their friendlies so far, but they know that they will be in for a much stronger test against the Football League side, who have won two promotions and the FA Trophy since they were in our league just five years ago.

Keeper Tommy Taylor is unavailable this weekend, so manager Alun Armstrong will probably put Lucas Martin or a triallist in goal, while striker Jacob Hazel could be back after his involvement with St Kitts and Nevis.

This will also be the first opportunity for Darlington fans to see new signings Mitchell Curry, Cameron Salkeld, Tom Platt, Jordan Windass, Toby Lees and Jordan Mustoe.

There will be two former Quakers in the Harrogate squad, Josh Falkingham and Will Smith, as well as Luke Armstrong, son of Alun.

The match kicks off at 3pm.

Alun spoke about the Harrogate game in his post match interview last week after the Aycliffe game.
